Round challah with raisins is my favorite bread to make French toast with. Here’s how I make it:
- Slice the challah.

2. Preheat a pan over medium heat. In a shallow bowl, add an egg (or egg substitute) and a couple of splashes of milk (I use oat milk). Mix and then sprinkle the surface with cinnamon.

3. When the pan is hot, spray some oil or melt some butter. Gently place each slice of challah in the egg mixture and coat both sides. Then add it to the pan to fry for a couple of minutes per side.

4. When each side is golden brown, the French toast is ready. Enjoy with fruit, yogurt, nut butter, cooked apples, creamy cheese, maple syrup or your favorite breakfast topping.
