Everything-but-the-bagel sushi wrap

Inspired by Yuka’s smoked salmon sushi wrap, I present the everything-but-the-bagel sushi wrap, which IMO improves on the original.

Inside the sushi wrap
  • Nori sheet
  • Cooked white or brown rice
  • Sliced avocado
  • Pickled red onions
  • Furikake seasoning
  • Cream cheese
  • Lox (smoked salmon)
  1. Lay out a piece of parchment paper, and put the nori sheet on top of it.
  2. In the middle of the nori sheet, add a quarter cup of rice and shape it into a square.
  3. Top the rice with salmon, cream cheese, avocado, onions, and seasoning.
  4. Fold the nori sheet together over the filling. You can wet the edges to get it to stick better.
  5. Wrap the parchment paper around the nori and turn it upside down, then leave it for a few minutes.
  6. Slice in half and enjoy like a sandwich.

Note that you’ll need to eat at least two of these to make it a meal. I ate the leftover toppings on an actual bagel the next day (without the rice and nori) and that was pretty good too.
