Taste test: Momofuku supermarket noodles

Smoked salmon with Momofuku noodles bowl

I found these Momofuku sesame miso ramen noodles in the supermarket while looking for a new easy lunch option. The packaging promises 12g of protein, a flavorful sauce, and a generous serving of noodles. That sounds like a meal by itself, but I decided to make it less boring by tossing in some greens and smoked salmon I needed to use up.

The cooking steps took a bit longer than I normally spend on lunch. I had to boil and drain the noodles, vs. microwaving or air frying for a few minutes. I then mixed in the sauce packet, toppings, and scant packet of sesame seeds:

The result was generous and filling, but there just wasn’t as much sauce as I expected. The texture was a bit dry, although that might have been my choice of toppings. I wouldn’t be in a hurry to get it again, but it made a nice change from sandwiches and salads.
